An Archives Plugin You’ll Love
I’ve seen several WordPress themes where the sidebar archives link is broken. My back up for such situations is to download the SRG Clean Archives plugin from iDunzo. In fact, I’ve got a copy that I keep on my hard drive in case I need it.
The SRG Clean Archives is a useful plugin that you can use to an archive to your sidebar or as a page in your WordPress blog. I like to add the page as it’s quick and easy. You just copy and past the code into the page text box and click “Publish.” Instant success.
Of course, to do it that way, you’ll need to delete the archives link from your sidebar. Otherwise, the broken link will still be there. But if you want to ensure that your users can find your archives, keep the archives in the sidebar but change the link destination to your newly created Archives page. That way, if your users do look in the sidebar for your archives, which is where it would normally be located, then they can click on the link and it will take them to the Archives page.
The Archives page is very well organized and your archives will be created immediately. You can organize it by category or by month and year. You can even localize the language. After activating the plugin you build the page and hit “Publish” then everyone in the world can see your Archives. If you need an archive on your blog then I highly recommend the SRG Clean Archives plugin from iDunzo.
