What’s The Most Important Aspect Of Blogging?

What’s most important when it comes to writing and marketing a business blog? Is it brand? Traffic? Design? Social media? SEO? Or none of the above?

Actually, it could be all of the above, but there is a deeper answer. When it comes to business blogging, there are a lot of factors to consider. But the most important aspect of your blog is your audience. Who are you writing for? Think about it for a minute and when you’ve defined your audience, write it down. Because that’s who you should write every blog post for.

Don’t write for the search engines. Yes, make sure your posts are SEOd, but don’t focus so heavily on SEO that your forget your human audience. Instead, write with your audience’s needs in mind and market your blog, write your blog, design your blog, and promote your blog with that audience in mind. It’s the most important thing about blogging.

Our site has somewhat of a blogging platform, but admitedly it is no where near as good as wordpress. My goal is to add content that will answer many of our customers pre-sale questions. We can get an idea of what the customers want by monitoring the questions that come in to our sales staff. The more answers we provide online the more our sales staff can focus on sales instead of answering questions.

  2. I agree with you, because without your audience and without your traffic, your blog will not be successful. Also, when dealing with anything business related you want it to represent your business well. So providing informative posts on your blog is a must.

Your blog is all about 2 way conversation! Whatever it takes to facilitate that conversation is what is most important to your blog project.

As you said in the article all of those factors are necessary to certain extents. But providing actual useful information is really key. Too many bloggers do it just to do it because they think they’ll get something out of it instead of having genuinely useful advice to give.
