Too many bloggers think you just throw up a blog and start writing. It isn’t that simple.
Sure, you can do that. You can go to Blogspot and have a free blog in five minutes. Write about anything you want. But will anyone find it? And, yes, you can join several blog directories and get you some traffic that way. But don’t count on a wave of traffic overnight. One of the most important aspects of blogging is the SEO.
SEO. That’s correct. Search engine optimization.
The reason you want to SEO your blog posts is because 80% or your traffic will likely come from search engines. If you are writing a personal blog then that traffic will make your day. If you are writing a business blog then it will be essential.
SEO tells the search engines that you have something worthwhile to say. By optimizing each blog post around your important keywords, over time your entire blog performs better at the search engines by repeated use of the same keywords. You can focus on one keyword or several keywords. Some of Blog Content Provider’s customers have captured the No. 1 Position at Google for a single keyword while others have moved up to Page 1 for two or more keywords. Diligence, persistence, and patience are the key to making your blog SEO work. But I wouldn’t try to write a business blog without focusing on SEO as an important aspect of every blog post.
